My wife is taking online classes and she has an iPad with bluetooth keyboard. She's not using the Blackboard app, she's using their website via Safari. She's also doing her papers in google docs and then copy/pasting them to Blackboard. Is there a better way to do this? Is there an easier way than to copy and paste from google docs. The issue with blackboard was everytime she typed something it would go back to the top of the doc. Any help or suggestions? The other option is to get a MB Air, but she'd really like to stick with the iPad...

Thanks!

Some online classes have specific browser requirements. You should be able to check what those are. A mobile browser may not be supported.

i think an ipad is not the optimal tool for this task but since that's what she wants to use i think she's going about it the right way. It is wise to write the papers in something that saves often, such as Google Docs, as opposed to into a webbrowser that does not. This is always the case, but applies even more to a tablet with limited RAM and no real multi-task ability to speak of.

For what it's worth, the cheapest MBA is under 1k - especially with a student discount, and would handle this kind of task for sure. I understand that you might not want to spend that kind of money but there are also cheaper laptops... however I wouldn't want to upgrade if I already had the iPad either so it's probably good enough.

Do be aware that most test-taking software will not be compatible with an iPad (or any tablet). This may or may not apply to her but I know, for example, that examsoft type software that many professional schools use have not yet been ported to iOS or Android.
