Using iPhone whilst abroad - disable GSM/Edge Data?

I'll be in Dubai for 10 days as of tomorrow and want to disable any access to GPRS/Edge data whilst abroad but allow data via WiFi and of course retain use of the voice side.

I've set Data roaming to 'OFF', is that sufficient?

it was sufficient for me with the 1st gen iPhone.

Just in case disable the 3G as well

ATT has a world data plan starting at $25 a month. I bought it in airport going to London then canceled it when I returned 5 days later. They prorated the fee. It did take about 15 minutes on the phone with CS though so I wouldn't recommend doing it right before you board (like I did). Don't know if Dubai is covered but they do have a list on their website.

Thanks all, this is a 1st Gen iPhone and and from the Uk so no ATT.
