Using iphone without cellphone plan

anyone heard of using the wifi, bluetooth, and skype account to establish a connection without getting a cellphone plan?

if so will this work with the ipod touch as well (cant remember if it has bluetooth or not)

the touch has no BT .... And i don't think skype works just yet for the iphone (but i could be very wrong) ...

Using the touch would be out of the question because the lack of speaker and mic. So you would have to get an iphone and hack it...
