I’ve always used screen protectors, and currently have one on my 8+, but one thing that kinda bugs me is how the oleophobic coating around the screen protector gets worn down over time.

So if down the line you ever wanna go without a screen protector... it looks strange like theirs a ghost outline of the screen protector on your phone (especially the home button area).

Not a big deal and nothing you can do about it, just sometimes makes me wonder if I should simply go without a screen protector from the very beginning and deal with the micro-scratches vs strange looking oleophobic coating wear pattern.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t mind screen protector’s. Picked up a 3 pack from TJ Max for $10, but it attracted so many finger prints, I had to take it off. Most of the time it had been without a screen protector.

I'm not a fan of screen protectors. My Xs does not have one, but does have a slight scratch in the middle of the screen. Luckily the scratch only shows when sunlight hits the device in the right spot, so it doesn't really bother me.

I have the Xs Max, prior to that I had 2 iPhone X,Samsung Note 8,iPhone 7 Plus,iPhone 7,Samsung Note 5,iPhone 6s,iPhone SE,iPhone 4s..NEVER used screen protector and NEVER had any issues not even a minor scratch.
screen protectors always change the quality and responsiveness of display.
they are un-necessary unless the owner is a child or a construction worker imo.
for many phones like Samsung edge display models they are impractical anyway.
