Here's the situation: My parents recently got their first Mac. Mom and Dad have separate logins (for e-mail and other purposes). They had been using iTunes on their PC with only one login. Now what they want is to store the files for iTunes in a shared location that they can both access, right now let's just call it the "Shared" folder under "Users". If Dad should login and open iTunes and download "Thriller" iTunes will store it in the selected folder that we are assuming is in "Shared" so that Mom can access it. However the iTunes Library file is stored under their respective accounts.

What we're trying to find out now is how to get the Library file under Dad's account to tell the one under Mom's account that "Thriller" has been downloaded and add it to her library. This is so that Mom doesn't go and download "Thriller" again.

Thanks
