Using macbook like a desktop, any battery tips?

Got a macbook and my parents use it like a laptop.

They very occasionaly move it from where it is.

What's the best way to preserve the battery?

Tape the Magsafe connector to the side of the laptop and remove the battery to save its health.

It is not recommended to run your Mac on the A/C adaptor with the battery out (Of course, this only applies to removable batteries).

Really? I did it all the time on my old Windows laptop... granted, the AC connector was practically glued on to the side of the damn thing. Thanks though :O I've been doing that for a while now

i use my early '08 macbook pro pretty much as a desktop. i also carry it aroudn with me occasionally. battery still works like a champ

Use it on battery power from time to time. The battery likes to know its being used!
