Hi all, ive got a macbook pro SR 2.4, and it came with the stock 160gb. i am currently replacing the stock HDD with the WD 7200rpm 320gb HDD, and just wondering b/c it would be a waste to throw the stock HDD away, could i possibily use the stock HDD as an external drive via buying an enclosure or anything? If so would anyone have any recommendations on what to get, price and where to get it? Thanks

Yes, enclosures are great. If you don't know what you're doing, go to the closest computer market and buy one off someone who will do it for you.

thanks psycho, also would these enclosures be connected via firewire or usb? most likely usb yeah? would it be more expensive to buy a firewire enclosure?

The most common will be USB only. You may find a couple USB & Firewire or just Firewire out there. USB & eSata are starting to come out and probably the best to get because the multiple ways to connect, not to say there is anything wrong with USB only.

Just wanted to point out the WD scorpio 320GB is a 5400 not a 72OO drive
