I already know how to automatically turn my computer on and off, but is there a way I can make it play a movie or a sound when it wakes itself up. So for instance I can wake up to the sound of birds chirping.

I have really taken a liking to Aurora available on MacUpdate. The options seem limitless.

Also, a more complex alarm clock app that allows for alarm "scripts" is Koingo's Alarm Clock Pro ($19.95 USD).

    Doesn't Aurora cost money?

If you want a free one, I've used Alarm Clock and iTunes Alarm. Both have been great.
