Did some searching with no luck...

So I use MobileMe with push for email on my iPhone, and it's always bothered me that if I read an email on my computer, it won't sync up with my iPhone as being read unless:
1. I open up Mail and it resyncs the messages.
2. I get a new message.

It there any way for it to do this automatically that anyone knows of?

Grarg... I mean the annoyance is so great that I am very tempted to just turn off Push, which would be rather tragic.

None that I am aware of and it drives me insane as well, happens with ActiveSync to an Exchange server as well.

What version of Exchange are you running against? We use Kerio Mailserver over exchange activesync and it works perfectly - the badge number changes when you read a mail on your desktop client (and goes up if you mark a mail as unread), so the protocol seems to support that functionality.
Can't get it working with MobileMe though :(
