Hey everybody!

So I just did this to make my mac a router and give off a wifi signal. I know it is working because I can connect my Ipod touch to it.

The problem is my friend Vista laptop cannot connect and just gives an error along the lines of "the wireless authentication settings on this computer do not match the requirements on this network". It can see it with 5 strength bars, but it won't connect...

anyone else encounter this problem and able to solve it?

Thanks!

yeah, i had this problem. go back and turn off the internet sharing, go to the airport settings, make the connection with no password "no authentication"
then turn sharing back on. connect your windows computer and save the the connection on the windows computer. go back and turn the authentication on again on your mac. go back to the windows pc and bring up the place where you browse wireless networks. when you see your macs network name, right click and go to properties. it will bring up a screen for the authentication.

you have to manually change it to WEP and type in the password and save it. you should then be able to connect the two computers.

Awesome, well the first part worked and I can connect it to the internet...

But I cannot get it so I can have a WEP key. In order for me to put one on while my macbook is giving off signal, i have to turn off airport and then turn it back on. This disconects me on the windows machine, and then just gives me errors when I try to reconnect(I set the WEP key on the windows machine but it won't keep it..)

Do you know how i can make it so I need the password? Ive been fudging with ti, but i cant seem to get it :/
