yeah, that's cool and all...until someone hacks your systems b/c your wireless gives out ip addr on the same subnet as your computers; ...or RIAA/MPAA sends you a letter claiming your ip block has been stealing their intellectual property, ...or men-in-black breaks down your doors b/c someone's hacked DOD/NSA property via your ip (block).

+1

This is very nice of you but dangerous for yourself. As acurafan said, anyone can connect and download anything on your connection and you are soley responsible regardless of who is using it. If you get a letter from your ISP you are responsible, not the person who was using it.

To the OP: Have you actually tried restoring your iPod and trying to reconnect?
Or has the iPod ever connected to this network before and suddenly stopped for what ever reason?

It sounds odd that it doesn't work and seems like something quite trivial could be stopping it. Like someone else suggested, try and use a different IP address incase your DHCP lease is conflicting with another user on the network

After reading this thread I think I'm going to talk with my neighbors. You see one of them has this nice snowblower and I still shovel by hand. the other has this real nice lawn tractor where I still mow my yard the old fashion way. Do you think they will let me use their machines if I ask?

They might well let you use the stuff if you know them well and ask - maybe you'd have to help pay for the maintenance.

Paranoia much?

i have no problem

i have no problem connecting to networks, if they are unsecured or secured, my iPod Touch can connect fine. Even the guy next door, I can connect fine. Even my own net, I can connect fine. i don't see a problem. Just input the password and i'm in. I'm no leecher, I got permission, even though I got my own net. He has permission to use my net, so we're fair. My point is, you must have damaged your iPod (e.g. Dropping, Throwing, etc.) or your house has something that ruins your connection. If it is none of that, then there is something wrong with your iTouch/iPhone.
