Isn't p2p just another name for stealing?

NO! NO! NO!

p2p does not equal stealing,

p2p = barrowing without asking with no intention to return.

;)

And besides, p2p can be used for a lot of legal things, like distribution of Linux distros.

They still have this thing called radio with an FM and AM band. You can buy an inexpensive devise that lets you tune into a frequency and you can listen to music. Sometimes there are DJs that talk and sometimes they have commercials, but other that that it is free.

Yes, you could buy this new fangled device you young people call a radio, but then you have to buy batteries, (or use and outlet, which also costs money) you can't choose the songs you want to listen to, you can't listen to any song on-demand. Then you have to deal with retarted DJs and long boring commercials. And then not to mention you can't listen to any station around the world, you have to be within a certain radius of the tower.

lol, radios, talk about old skool yo

Totally agree.

So being young and poor entitles you to steal? Remind me to lock my doors. It's not the price of music that's sketchy, it's your attitude.

Just do without until you can afford it.

Sir, yes, sir! By the way, remember not to speed tomorrow on your way to work. Just because the cop isn't looking doesn't mean your entitled to it.

SPEED KILLS. ..... :D

You are absolutely right! But why do you single me out for this? Are you saying I drive at speeds in excess of the speed limit?

NO, it's not. It's peer to peer, but what it's mostly used for is illegal software trading (or leeching.)

And the iTMS is all peachy kean, if you live in a country where the iTMS can be used. In my case, it can't. I don't however, condone the theft of music, all you're doing is playing into the greedy hands of the RIAA.

Use internet radio...

I don't condone illegal music downloads, but ask your questions about not showing up on network here Kid:

Are you going to be connecting wirelessly or via an ethernet connection?

If through ethernet you can change your MAC address for the times that you are online so that if they trace it to you they can't prove it was your network card.

Remember to enable firewalls, etc. Change your computer name if need be. And, to be geeky - try running a Linux Live CD and do your downloads in that - onto your HD. Then the school would be looking for a different laptop, with a different network card, running Linux.

Although you're bound to be caught eventually.
