Using Nikon DSLR for FaceTime or Video call

Is it possible to use my Nikon DSLR as my video camera for FaceTime and Skype?

Currently, I have Nikon D5000, and this model has a 1280 x 720 movie setting.

If not, for HD quality video call, should I buy an HD Video cam?
And is it worth it?

I couldn't find any article that suggested it was possible. To my knowledge it isn't. if you want HD facetime and skype calls just get a webcam that will support 720p or 1080p. I wouldn't spend money on a video camera I 'd only use for facetime and skype.
