Hi, I have a spare laptop 2 pin cable that look like this:

3-pin-uk-fused-plug-to-2-pin-laptop-notebook-power-supply-cable-1-8m-familistorre-1504-10-familistorre@10.jpg

Can this be used like an Apple's duckhead cable? I am thinking of doing so to extend the length of my USB C charger from Apple, thanks!

Hi there!
We have the exact same cables and plugs here in the UK..... (shared history!)

To try for you, I've connected a same type of lead you have shown in the picture to my MacBook Pro's charger block and then connected to the MacBook, seems to work fine, charges OK. My laptop uses the Magsafe connector and when the cable was connected, the led went green and then turned orange, just as it normally does.

Looking at the two hole connector on the UK / Singapore cable, it appears to be the same as Apple's two prone connection on the charging block.

Hope this helps

Wow, thanks for helping to test! Both types of cables do indeed look the same, hence my inquiry.

I just tried it here too, had no issues so far with my USB C charger!

Excellent news!
Here in the UK, these two prong connectors are used for all sorts of things i.e. battery charger blocks for cameras and powering mens' electric shavers direct from the wall socket....

Same here too, except sometimes the cables are two pin on both sides instead of the usual (and much easier to use) three pin on one side and two pin on the other
