Using old hard drive on new(for me) Macbook Pro

I have a 2011 MBP and was just given a 2012 MPB.

I want to keep using the same SSD from my old MPB. Do I have to wipe or reinstall Yosemite or anything on the SSD?

Or can I just put it in the 2012 Macbook as is and have it run fine.

Should be fine, might be a bit slow on the first couple of boots while it redetects the hardware.
