Using Outlook backup in Mail

Hi,

I just bought my dad a new mac, and I was wondering if there's anyway to open an Outlook mail backup and bring all of those messages into Mail?

I know how to transfer Contacts, but not much else.

A couple of options....

1) There are some techniques that require that you use an intermediary like Outlook Express or Netscape... see this for instance.

2) You can use Outlook2Mac, but it is not free.

Just to share my experience with you, I used Eudora to import my mail and then exported to Mail.app. It worked, but it was a pain in the rear and a lot of my email ended up with lots of incorrect html formatting. I wouldn't recommend going that route.
