Had my first Computer science class this morning, and that was cool. I have downloaded python launcher and IDLE and installed it now, but I am wondering, is it possible to run Python in Xcode? How is that done? Creating an empty project?

Is there a better IDE to use with Python and OS X?

Thanks for the help, and yes I have searched, but everything seems to be quite dated, wondered if we had some updates.

Okay I have a question, why do I not see Cocoa-Python in my applications list?
I installed Net-Beans, pretty cool.

Annoyingly Apple have removed the Python and Ruby templates from XCode. You can still download and install them from their respective projects (http://pyobjc.sourceforge.net/ and http://www.macruby.org/). I filed a bug on this and was told that this is intentional, and that I should either move the files from an older version of XCode into place, or get them from the projects. I have not gotten an answer anywhere else that is much better.

That all being said, once you have the template files in place they work great. And there is absolutely no evidence that the bridges that these templates are built on are going away (and much evidence to the contrary).

I feel like an idiot but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to download / install this.

It just keeps going into files and folders it seems on the server.
