Using rMBP as USB 3 Hub over Thunderbolt for iMac 2011?

I'm wondering if it's possible to connect USB 3 Hard drives which are plugged into my Late 2013 13" rMBP to my USB-3-less 2011 iMac over Thunderbolt?

Umm....I don't think it's possible.

I think your best solution is to buy a Caldigit Thunderbolt Dock.

Ah ok, thanks. I tried Target Disk Mode over Firewire, but this just displayed the SSD, and not the USB connected drives, but I wasn't sure whether this new Thunderbolt Networking would work or not. Thanks for your help.

Many thanks. I bought a Thunderbolt cable, and it turned out that doing Thunderbolt over IP worked a treat.
