Hi gang, I'm trying to import some old home movies onto my computer before the VHS wears out. I bought the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD package and a VCR (I forgot those things had existed). The Roxio does a good job of converting my movies to MPG, and then converting it to MP4 for Quicktime to read, but when I try to send it to iMovie '09 an Error -5000 pops up. I've tried converting the video to .mov and to two different types of H.264 using ffmpeg (I don't know enough about video compression to know what the heck I'm talking about...I just know I did it), and the H.264 is apparently something iMovie recognizes, because it's at least not greyed out in the Import dialog in iMovie. But when I import it, the status bar pops up, goes really fast, and then nothing happens. SO, having said all that, does anyone have any better advice for me? Thanks a lot.
