This post, dated April 9, 2005, from another forum caught my eye the other day: When I use 'save-as' to make changes to an existing file, I expect Word to save it in the same folder where I opened it. Instead, it saves it in the folder where I last saved some other file. This means that unless I remember to navigate back to the originating folder, I inadvertantly save copies of files in the wrong folders. ALL DAY LONG. I used to have problem as well and it drove my crazy. I had documents misfiled all over my hard drive. But it occurred to me recently that this no longer happens. When I now use 'save-as' to save an existing file, the originating folder is automatically selected as my new file's destination. Did Apple sneak this fix into an update in the last couple of months? Or is my imagination playing tricks on me?
