Does anyone find that using Siri is pretty crappy from the watch?
I'll ask it super basic watch stuff and it seems like all I ever get is "I'll tap you when I'm ready" and I never get a "tap".

(series 2, btw)

Siri on the Apple Watch is mainly useful for smaller tasks, but I don't find myself using it all that often. The response time is much quicker than it was on the first generation Apple Watch with the later updates, but it's nice to have the voice feedback on Series 3, which you can hear Siri's voice versus looking down at your Watch.

I use Hey Siri in my car quite regularly and I don't know what I'd do without it, tbh.
But its super annoying when I'm "Hey Siri-ing" my phone and the watch picks up the request, only to deny me of any real info, lol

I wonder if I can turn off Siri on the watch; I'll look into that.

But I'm still curious if others have issues with it doing the basic things that the watch's Siri is supposed to be able to do

Under settings, you can disable "Hey Siri", which will disable the microphone from listening to your voice, which will conserve battery. But you can't disable Siri altogether on the Apple Watch.

Also, here are some other Siri tips:

Try these steps. After each step, see if Siri responds:

  1. Check the Internet connection on your Apple Watch.
  2. On your iPhone, see if Siri is turned on. Tap Settings > Siri & Search, then turn on Listen for "Hey Siri" and Press Home for Siri. Your Apple Watch mirrors your iPhone, so you don’t need to check your watch.
  3. On your Apple Watch, see if Hey Siri is turned on. Tap Settings > General > Siri.
  4. Restart your Apple Watch.
  5. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Siri & Search and turn off Listen for "Hey Siri." Then turn it on again.
  6. See if the microphone or speaker on your Apple Watch is blocked. For example, if your device has a protective case, remove it.
  7. If Siri doesn't speak on Apple Watch Series 3, you might need to download its voice.

[pet peeve]Siri needs to become a singularity across all devices and not a collection of Siris[/pet peeve]

Siri is under Settings>General>Siri

Those appear to be steps for the series 3, but I've done them all (except the voice activation) prior to this...
It still wants to tap me when its ready and its Never ready

It suffices for basic tasks but I sometimes have to wait for quite a while before anything happens. One common command I use is to compose a message. It can happen almost instantaneously, but I have also had to wait for up to 10 seconds a couple of times.

Over time, you will get used to which of your devices excel at which sort of Siri commands and use them accordingly. I largely use Siri for quickly composing messages, making calculations and launching timers.
