CarPlay Using speak text, audio cuts in and out

Anyone have audio cutting in and out issues when using "speak text" while using Carplay? Audio is dropped for about half a second every one or two seconds--just enough so I can't understand what it's saying. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with my car, but I thought I'd check. Maybe it's a problem with some other cars too. I have a VW ID.4. Thanks!

I have noticed in the last month or so that (sometimes) when I press and hold the voice button on my steering wheel to wake up Sire and say "Send text to Bob" Siri responds "What do you wan" and cuts off instead of saying "What do you want to say to Bob?" Then after I dictate, it repeats back "It says..." and then nothing and then "Okay to send". This can also happen when I ask Siri to read texts.
