Using Swype but iphone keeps resetting to default keyboard

Hi guys,

Wondering if any of you are having issues with swype. Every time I open google hangouts, the keyboard resets to the apple keyboard and I have to switch back to swype. This is a major PITA. I've gone into the keyboards setting and have made swype first on the list.

Any ideas?

Always had this issue which is frustrating. I prefer to swipe type but custom keyboards are too inconsistent.

I look forward to the day they finally sort out the 3rd party keyboard issues. They've certainly had enough time to do it. Since getting the Plus though, I tend to type two handed so the swipe feature isn't needed as much. I also love the new hard press for cursor feature in the stock keyboard.

It's been two years, why cannot they figure this out? I ended up deleting swype due to this. My husband, however, doesn't seem to have the issue as frequently and uses Swype 99% of the time.

3rd party keyboards for iOS has been a nightmare. Should of kept it off the featured list until it was 100% functional.
