Using the Airpods Max case in a backpack

Hello, I’m wondering if people gnerally are ok with using the supplied case for the APM in a bag or backpack. Have they held up well with regular use in a bag or do you find the need for a hard case?

i bought a spigen case but it’s MASSIVE and I’m just wondering if I need one at all.

I have the Waterfield Design case, and recently received the Spigen. The Waterfield Design case is well padded (not a hard case), and is smaller when measured from the bottom to the top of the case. Kinda of a teardrop shape vs. the oval shape of the Waterfield.

I'm returning the Spigen because of that. Although I did like the idea of a hard case. Also, for deep sleep of the headphones you do have to use the Apple bikini case, as Spigen has no built-in magnets.

As I think about it I also wanted, but did not like the Spigen's handle. It gets in the way of the zipper as it straddles both side of the case if you want to fully open it flat.

So, I suppose it depends on what else you have in your backpack, and anything that might be bumping into the AirPods Max.

I’m hesitant about it. I need a better solution but I genuinely put them in the case and then in the original box (like the packaging box) right now. It’s very bulky and all but it’s the best solution I have right now - My old Bose got destroyed completely from just being put in my backpack

Wow! Sound like you need a Pelican style hard case like my Audeze LCD-2 headphones came in. Not small. And of course heavy. The only other thing I‘d consider is a camera backpack. Lots of padding and movable inserts. As you can tell I love bags and backpacks😄

I’m sorry your Bose got destroyed but that’s very helpful to know that backpacks can actually harm these things. Thanks for posting that.
