Hello,

I am trying to set up a home security camera using the application Evocam and the iSight camera on my Macbook. In particular, I would like it to email images to me whenever the sensor detects motion. I have looked all over the internet for a comprehensive guide on how to do this, and I am fairly proficient with computers, but so far either the guides or my own computer knowledge have fallen short. Can anyone familiar with my particular kind of setup give me a step-by-step guide on how to do this seemingly simple task?

I have a gmail account as well as an aol email account (I don't care which one I use), I am using os x on my mac, and my wireless router is a linksys WRT54S. Let me know if I need to provide any more info.

Thanks!

knavalesi, I had the same problem, and here are the settings that I got to work (thanks to advise from EvoCam suppoort:

server: smtp.gmail.com:587
Email From: yourusername@gmail.com
Email To: whatever@whatever.com
Subject: whatever

click the Advanced. . . button and put:
Ck mark in front of SMTP server requires authentication
Username: yourusername@gmail.com
Password: your gmail password

After I did this, the email was sent off without a problem.

Hope this helps. 🙂
