I was looking to see if the Neo could handle Logic Pro, found this video regarding using a Neo for creative apps and it’s very enlightening.
Don’t know the guy, no financial interest, don’t tend to watch these things anyway, but his take is:
-A graphic designer can use it Neo no problem (as long as sRGB colorspace is sufficient I assume)
-Photo editing, depends on your professional level but most people will be fine
-Video editing in 4k is not great but doable for light work, and if your target audience is TikTok resolution videos, it’ll do it fine
-Music production works well enough without hiccups
-Web design for creatives is a no brainer
Build quality of Neo is insane as is the “snappiness” when opening apps and switching apps.
Speakers are better than most laptops but not as good as an Air. If he didn’t have an Air to compare to, he wouldn’t have had a beef about them.
Screen was a tad dim and he kept trying to make it brighter. (I found the same in store)
Trackpad isn’t as good as better macs but blows windows laptops away.
Battery dies “quickly” under heavy load, about 3 hrs 80->10%, which is better life than older laptops got under light use. My take is doing processor pegging work at max brightness should be done with a power adapter.
8GB didn’t seem to be an issue despite the large file sizes and open apps.
