Hi, I have got a Macbook and a couple of PCs in my family. I'm considering to get a Time Capsule and use it as a file / backup server for both the Macbook and the PCs. Does Time Capsule support that? Thanks

yes, it just acts as a NAS (network drive) - you don't have to use it for Time Machine if you don't want to.

Thanks. Do I need to separate the hard drive into 2 partitions: 1 for the Mac and 1 for the PCs? Or I can put them into the same partition / file system?

The Time Capsule takes care of the "translating" for Macs and PCs, so you don't need to worry about file system types. You actually can't partition a Time Capsule drive through the Time Capsule itself.

AppleInsider just did 5 articles on how fast the Time Capsule works for networking shares and backups, if you're interested in some more reading on the matter. :)
