Hi all...

I've recently set up a Xserve apple server. Everything works when I'm using the same network. But when I try to backup using time-machine from home an error occures...

I don't know wether I'm supposed to open any ports in the router or what the problem is???

I'm also having trouble logging on th http:// way. The site shows perfectly but when I try to login nothing happens... Also here I'm suspecting some port troubes.

HELP ME KIND USERS!!

You're trying to access the xserve/time machine sharepoint remotely?

Well you could either a) open a port on your network boundary (aka the router serving the network with the xserve) and then AFP in. or since you have xserve with os x server (assumption) you could setup VPN then once you VPN in you should be able to access the time machine share point as if you were on the local network with it.
