using TV as monitor with Macbook

I have a unibody MBP and a 42" Samsung LCD tv. Is there a way to hook it up to my tv to watch movies (in Quicktime fullscreen mode)? I figure there's probably a connector adapter that I can get from Apple (mini-dvi to dvi maybe?). However, would I have issues related to the screen on my MBP being a different resolution from the tv or anything like that?
