so i just got a iphone 4 and installed the usb disk app. it says taht i can put files on it and whatnot, but would i be able to put a copy of opensuse linux on it, and then use the iphone to install it from boot on my MBP so i can run both osx and linux in seperate boots?

I believe 'USB Disk' only works through iTunes. It doesn't work like a regular USB flash drive, so you can't boot from it.
