I'm trying to prove to my ISP that their router fails in the summer heat. In the Apple Store when they connect your Mac to their network they can click on wifi in the task bar and under the network name it lists various diagnostic info like the current transfer speed. Apple are certain that my MBP's wifi card and antenna are fine because they looked at that info and the speeds and signal strength were good.

Is it possible to enable that info for my home network?

Just hold down your Option key and press the Wi-Fi icon in the Finder menu! It will show you the setup of the network your connected too!
