I have an old 2012 iMac which is still serving me well as a triple monitor setup. I've got Parallels but my Windows 10 setup was always giving me issues, so I am thinking about buying a mini PC as a separate unit for Windows 10. However, my monitors are all connected to my Mac and wish to keep it that way.

So, what is a good solution for me connecting to my Windows 10 PC via a window in my Mac? I presume there is some software that can access via the network (or maybe wifi). Since I might do some gaming on the Windows 10 PC, would there be much latency using Mac software that shows Windows in a window?

For "normal" usage, I would suggest Remotedesktop. It's built-in and a corresponding client is available through the MAS.

If you play your games on Steam, it has a built-in streaming solution (Remote Play). In my experience, it usually works quite well, when your network is capable (i.e. cable based ethernet).

Sounds interesting @Janichsan. By RemoteDesktop, do you mean the one built into Windows 10 Pro, and download the Mac client from the App Store? Or are you referring to Chrome RemoteDesktop?

I have an ethernet based network at home.

Regarding Steam, do you mean install Steam on both PC and Mac, then have the PC run the game, but Remote Play to transfer that stream to the Mac? i.e. I play the game on my Mac, but the processing is running on the PC?

Yeah, this one. Although I have to admit I forgot that the server is a Windows 10 Pro exclusive feature.

Chrome Remote Desktop probably would work, too, I guess? I've never used it.

Correct. There even is a dedicated app for that.
