From what I can tell, the drive is compatible, but there is no software for the Mac that can read the encoding format. Hope that helps.

You might be able to use PowerDVD ultra in bootcamp (or possibly in VMWare etc). But then it will only work if you use an analogue connection from your Mac to the monitor (VGA or component).

Another option is to use a program that can remove the DRM (like anyDVD) and then play it in something like mplayer.

I'm using one on my X1600-based MBP under XP with PowerDVD, and it works perfectly. I'm also working on trying to get my movies playable under OS X, see this thread for progress.
