What ever happened to the carbon version of the original UT? The last they released, as far as I can tell, was the third preview release, which was by no means complete.
the person who said she was porting it litterly says that she will be done soon.

1 person, porting a game.

Translation= Massive doubt.

good news for all.

Glenda has been working on the UT port when she has a few moments. There haven't been many since she's been working on EverQuest.

She and Westlake have nothing to do with UT 2003--that's only Epic.

I knew I got that from someone here, hehe. Just get the game out already.

BTW, you've got a PM. ;)

Maybe a llittle of topic:
Does anybody know in Red Faction is multi-platform?
I love the game and I was wondering if I am playing against to maccers only.
cheers

Also I heard the requirements are steep.
Even if the game is not MP-enabled, advantages of an MP system will be felt. For instance, any sound calls made by the game are almost certainly OS-level calls and the OS would throw these onto the processor not burdened with executing the main application code, so some advantage would be felt.

Forget this UT stuff I just hope someone decides to bring us Battlefield 1942.:D :D

I'm not into computer games, more of a console kind of guy, but I wouldn't mind blowing up my (peecee) roomate with a tank from the comfort of my mac.

Back on topic: UT would be cool too! But by the time we (mac users) get it... will the rest of the game world still be playing it? I have a feeling there will be something else... some new hot title that we'll again "can't wait" for.

If they've only created separate threads for each bot, it could be consider MP-enabled. The O.S. will assign them advantageously to the processors.
