I remember reading about a utility program that runs in OSX that allows you to switch to bootcamp from a menubar icon - that way you don't have to hold down the Option key during normal bootup to select the partition. Could someone refresh my memory on the name of this program?

Well you can set the default startup disk in system preferences to be your boot camp drive. But I'm guessing you're wanting a non permanent way to do it? By that I mean it'll boot to Windows everytime until you switch it back.
