Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this - the UTM documentation reads as if it can only visualise macOS 12+ as a guest, but I'm not sure if that's referring to a limitation of macOS guests on Apple Silicon hosts.

Can you use UTM on an Intel machine to virtualise previous x86 macOS versions - Yosemite, Mountain Lion etc.

When it virtualizes Intel hardware, maybe you have to use Clover or OpenCore to get macOS to boot just like a real Intel PC?

The type of Intel machine that it virtualizes will probably limit the versions of macOS that it can support, same as for a real Intel PC.

Use VMWare Fusion (free for personal use) to virtualise Intel macOS on Intel Mac host.

yeah, I've downloaded it, and I'm just waiting to check it out. I'm also looking at VirtualBox, but I have the impression it's a little more intrusive to the system in terms of what it installs and where, but one feature it does seem to offer, is multiple displays for the virtualised system. I can't find a clear answer if that works with macOS on macOS.
