You might have a good time, but your new wife might feel some of the restrictions on what she can do (as a woman) takes some of the fun out of the trip.
Do take into consideration that it's hurricane season down here, not sure i would want to take a vacation in august to any country in the caribbean and be inside all week long due to weather.
Er... if you want a desert experience... (but maybe a good stop off en route to Thailand)
