It's pretty interesting how Vaja allows you to customize the case in preferred colors. I mix-matched the colors in vibrant green and lime green for the ivolution Top SP and it looks pretty sweet! Now it's a matter of price..

i got a question regarding these types of cases. When you're actually using the phone, do you take it out of the case to use it or do flip it open and talk on it with the flap hanging out. Or do you put the flap behind the phone. Kinda looks weird when u're using a flip case while talking on the iphone.

That's why I opted for the Grip. I've seen pictures and youtube videos of people holding the flap behind the phone and letting it hang down (or up for other cases). Either way, it looks awkward goofy.

After using the case for a few days, it has held up well so far. My only complaint is that the floata leather doesn't feel as nice as the smooth leather and the iPhone 4 screen has become a lint magnet when it's in my pocket with the case on.

Woot, got my shipping notice for my Ivo Top SP, time for some fresh leather smell before the weekend. I also see they list a shipping time of 35 days now.

I know this is an old thread (sorry for the bump), but I felt I had to add my own 2p.

I was led to believe that Vaja Cases were top notch, their website looks good, so good that I was lured into a false sense of security.

Rather than go on and tell you my problems, here is the email I just sent off to Vaja.

Dear Vaja.

I recently purchased one of your iPhone 4S cases, the Black Series iVolution Top, for my son as his birthday present. We specifically chose the case as it was advertised as "shipping immediately" and not the 25+ days in which others were marked up at for the Handicraft process.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed to learn that the case didn't actually ship immediately. It was two business days later when it was eventually shipped. I ordered it on Thursday 27th October, and it wasn't shipped until Monday 31st October. I would have expected a case that was advertised as "Shipping Immediately" to have been shipped the same day, or on the Friday, NOT Monday! Not good considering I paid $30 dollars for shipping to the UK.

We received the case via FedEx today (Friday 4th November) and all I can say is that my Son is very disappointed, as am I. On your website, the case appears to be very attractive and made from high quality materials. Yet the case we have received feels like a cardboard shell wrapped in thin, low quality leather.

This isn't the only poor attribute to this product, the quality of the craftsmanship is also disappointing. It is for this reason that I would like to request an RMA for the case. It simply doesn't function correctly! I have determined what is causing this, and would like to explain below. Attached are some photos for you to view to better explain the issue.

The piece of leather which connects the flap to the main body of the case is unevenly fitted (Photo A). This means that when shut, the case doesn't close properly. In order for the flap to be parallel to the body of the case, the top clip (Photo B) has to cover over the iPhone's "Sleep" button. This causes the phone to turn on, and stay on, in power off mode (Photo C). When the top clip is moved into its correct position (Photo D), the flap is no longer parallel to the case. This issue renders the case useless, as it continually turns on the iPhone. We are worried that with time, strain will be put on the "Sleep" button on the iPhone, and it may eventually break.

My Son and I have owned several leather cases before, and understand about the "Break-In Period", however as well as not being straight, the leather piece connecting the flap is far too short. The fit is VERY tight, and puts a lot of strain on the iPhone, and due to piece being uneven it is also very hard to close.

Additionally, when the package arrived, the corners of the box were scuffed, and the case did not have the 'Strong Leather Smell' that other reviews stated it did.

We are very disappointed with this Vaja case, and therefore wish to return it and be refunded. I have read your policy pages, and I understand that you don't refund the original shipping cost. If we were returning this case because we didn't like it, I would understand this. However as there is a fault with this case, I would appreciate it if you were to refund the shipping cost as a good will gesture. I am more than willing to pay the return shipping cost to you, but I feel that Vaja should refund the initial shipping cost.

Regards

See what I mean?

I've had at least 6 cases from Vaja myself and about 6 more in the family.
Since the first iPhone.

However I decided not to get the Vaja for the iPhone4s went with a bumper.

Any how Vaja used to be very good. You used to have to wait 30 days and pay a bit to much but when you got it in your hand you felt it was worth it.

That being said there quality control has degraded a lot and I also believe there not building them the same. i.e. skimping on the glue or something.
My last 4 cases fell part with in a year as well as 2 other family members cases.

Most people are giving them a 9 month life span and I agree with them I think they are skimping somewhere on the materials now.

Interesting. I've been reading reviews about Vaja for years saying how great they were; the case I received is a major disappointment...

It's always been the shipping time and price that's put me off, but I had my heart set on getting one for my iPhone 4S... Really annoyed about it, cos I'm going to have to spend money sending it back and they might not even refund the original shipping cost.

Looks like I'll be going and ordering a Sena case instead.
