arcangel6 - thanks for the coupon code. I was on the fence about buying the case, but the discount helped sway me! :D

I've owned a few Vaja cases before and I've been impressed with their quality and craftsmanship. The few times I've decided not to buy a Vaja case, I've spent an equivalent amount buying 2 or 3 other cases and not being happy with those.

Now, to wait for the iPad! I have a case, but no iPad and have to wait for the 28th to get mine delivered here in Canada!

If I knew the 2nd generation iPad would be the same form factor, I would probably buy this case. But I can't convince myself to buy it if it will just be a one and done product. I have a tendency to buy the latest and greatest so when the next iPad comes out next year, I don't want my $200 case to be obsolete. I could always sell the iPad for good value. A case? Not so much.

I'm in the same boat and have a tendency to buy the latest. In my case, however, the older generation product tends to get handed down to my wife! :D
So, I tend to get at least two years out of a case. Additionally, I find that the Vaja cases tend to hold their value better than most cases - granted, you are not going to get remotely close to what you paid for them in the first place. If after two years, I get 30-40% of what I paid for them originally, I'd be okay with that.

Nice Joe.

The wait is much less than the Orbino, huh? ;)

Hi,

The nice folks at Orbino just seem so overwhelmed by both the orders and the 'immediacy' of the internet. I am not sure how many orders they received. I really hope they can get a handle on it. It looks like a great case. I may still order one.

I do like my Padova. Very much so.

I see that the black/lime green 'special edition' is also available immediately. Interesting.:)

Pulled the trigger on the brown leather case, it looks great. Thanks OP! Used the 15% off coupon code too. It was in stock, hopefully it ships soon!

It is neat but since we're on the subject, how does one order the agenda case? I tried on two browsers and never saw a "customize" and "add to cart" option.

Not sure what browser u used, I tried first with my iPad and I couldn't (I think it is flash related) however, when I tried firefox in my air it worked well and I was able to customise and add to cart. Just make sure that u disable any flash blocker plug.

I had the same issue with my iPad. I used Google Chrome on my MBP and had no issues with ordering it.

You will need to select Products --> iPad. This will bring up an array of products along the bottom of the screen. Select the the Agenda. You will then be able to customize and order.

Hope this helps.

Vaja kind of reminds me of Monster.

I just don't see the attraction to these cases at those prices. I am not against spending good money on something; but what is so great about these to price them +100 over any competition? Does Vaja just have that sort of rep?

I dunno...::confused:

The way that leather looks (the brown one in the original picture) is *WAY* nicer than anything else I've seen made of the same material. The look alone is worth extra money.

I know this is slightly off topic, but being an AV enthusiast, I would never put Vaja in the same category as Monster Cables. Monster is selling you on bogus information that their cables will perform better, when in fact, they will perform just as good as a $5 equivalent cable. Their power stuff, on the other hand, is pretty decent, but I prefer Tripp Lite at a lower price. ;)

Also, the better looks does allow a slight premium over other products.

I agree that Monster is overpriced, as I buy my cables from Monoprice.com. To me, if a cheaper cable can send a digital signal, it'll likely sound or look as good as the expensive stuff. However, in regards to Vaja, I believe there is a perceptible quality difference.

fixed that one there...

Fair enough on the Monster bit :)

But the premium seems to be that of pushing 50-100% in the pricing department (over other quality products/high end.) Be that as it may, I am in no position to argue the quality/value/worth of the product. Just find it to be very expensive for what it is; that's all.

It's even more than the low low priced items at Neiman Marcus :p

I do not care for the Vaja two-piece cases, but in regards to the Leather Agenda, who would you consider as Vaja's competition right now?

BTW, those NM cases are butt ugly with all of those rivets on them. An snap enclosures on the inside. FAIL!!!

I agree with you 100%. They have no competition; I.E. I am not sure of anything priced in that category. The NM was an example of a the highest priced place I could find- not as a comparison on looks/quality etc.

Point simple- They are very very expensive- for what they are.

The only two I am aware of are the Piel Frama case

http://www.pielframa.com/ipad-magnetic-red-cases.htm

and the Orbina Padova (vertical flip design)

Mr. Biggles owns an Orbino.
