After Valve's series of teaser images, it's now been revealed that their upcoming sequel Portal 2 will also be coming to the Mac. The above image comes from a series of scans from the latest issue of Gameinformer magazine which carries a cover story about the much anticipated sequel.

The original Portal game was originally released as part of the Orange Box compilation for Xbox and PC. It was a relatively short game featuring physics based puzzles in which the player manipulated two different teleporting portal entrances:

The original game was a critical success and resulted in the full-length sequel planned this fall. Portal 2 will presumably be distributed on a Mac version of Steam which has been hinted at over the past week.

This is good news for gaming on the Mac! It's going to be hard for content producers to ignore the Mac moving forward.

Any chance my 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo with Intel GMA can run this? No? Oh, well...

i just don't get the people voting negative, if you don't like games on mac, then don't install it but let us other TF2 fanatics enjoy these wonderful news ...

If they come out the same time, I'll definitely be buying the Mac version to support the endeavor.

Awesome! When is Portal 2 supposed to be released, does anyone know?

But does it matter at this point ? Doesn't any mac user who's serious about gaming just install a Windows partition via Bootcamp ?

For the good of all of us, except the one who are dead!

But there's no sense crying
over every mistake.
You just keep on trying
till you run out of cake.
And the science gets done.
And you make a neat gun
for the people who are
still alive.

Gabe Newell hath delivered to the believers and we will taste of the cake in the promise land.

Yes, but with this, they won't need to. Like if Counter Strike came out for the Mac, I would use Boot Camp even less than I do now (once or twice a month).

Imagine a world where we don't need an additional windows license and extra hard drive space to support our gaming! Aperture science division can do that for us! :D
