Could you tell me more about what happened? You asked to have a new number. Who picked the area code, prefix, and last 4 digits - you, them, or the computer? Was this on the phone or at a Verizon Wireless retail store?If so they removed it recently. I did it a couple months ago. I did not even ask to pick a number though, just needed my number changed to anything else.
You get a choice of area code and prefix. Last 4 are auto generated by their system. They dont even know it until its generated and assigned.

I spotted this sweater online but it has the wrong letters for 7-8-9. I guess there's been some inconsistency about that.Also, when thinking about numbers, remember that the 1 used to be for Q and Z.
