So this is the first year i've actually planned to order a iPad the day preorders start (last year I got my iPad 3 from Amazon a week after it was released) and I just have a few questions :)

1. Will there be a 1-day delivery option? Is it worth it to pay for it or because it's a pre-order will all shipping options deliver on the actual release day?
2. What carrier does Apple use to ship the iPads?
3. When did pre-orders begin last year? ( An hour after the announcement? A day? )
4. How fast did the initial batch of iPads run out last year?

Thanks for all the help :)

1. There is an "expedited shipping" option, but it isn't worth it for preorders, because they all arrive a the same time anyway.

2. FedEx or UPS.

3&4. Don't remember exactly how long it was between announcement and preorders last year, about a week to ten days. Apple usually announces when preorders will start during the keynote.

I believe the first batch sold out within a few hours, certainly within the first day, but I don't really remember that well. I usually just stay up until midnight pacific time to place my order as soon as the preorders go live, and have always been able to get in the first shipment batch.
