I think its a great idea after I have a kid. I only want one and if I'm in a monogamous relationship it's the simplest way to never worry again. Obviously that link is pretty scary but I'd still consider it when the day comes.
I don't want any. But after reading that, I think I'll just stay a virgin.

Forever.

Anybody here ever get one? Regrets? Problems?
Yes. No regrets. No problems.

Creative writing at it's best. It's surgery, so yes there is some discomfort during the procedure. Having a cataract removed was marginally worse.

If you are done having children, then the alternatives are a condom (or similar) - which is risky... or your partner has a much more invasive surgical procedure...are you that kind of man? Or your partner goes on the pill which increases her risk of cancer, heart disease, weight changes, high blood pressure, etc.... are the kind of man that puts their partner through that just because you got a little queasy reading somone's creative writing assignment?

It's surgery... there will be some discomfort. And then you're done. Grow up.

I did it and it wasn't painful at all.. that guy is like a baby. I think its the best thing to do if you dont want to have more kids. It takes 1,000 tons of weight of your back. For me it was a great experience. Maybe you should go to my doctor.

Thank u for the offer, but you're a little far away from me.

^^^ This. Wife and I discussed it for after having kids. Unless there is some serious long term side effects I need to worry about, I will be the one getting snipped for the reasons given above. The only difference would be if the wife had to get a caesarian, then we would probably opt for having her tubes tied during that procedure. But if we can at all avoid the caesarian then not.

No problems for me, and it's been more than 20 years.

The procedure was very easy and I tolerated it well. A few days later I did a bicycle century, no problem.

As others have said, if you're done reproducing (and I was) why not? It's a favor to your partner or potential partners. One less thing to worry about.
