I recently bought an 8 gig iPod touch and I'm looking for a good folio case for it. Like, say, this one:

    http://www.amazon.com/DLO-HipCase-L...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1234634289&sr=8-1

    or this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Leathe...=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1234635156&sr=8-21

But here's my issue. I am what they call "one a them goshderned hippies" and would really prefer a non-leather case that would offer all the protection of those above. (e.g. this one (http://www.amazon.com/DLO-HipCase-Holster-touch-Black/dp/B000WLXO96) is great but leaves the ipod glaringly vulnerable on every side.

Any leads? Thanks so much for your help!

Hi! I'm vegan, and here the case I found and use. I've had it for almost a year, and it is still just fine.

    http://store.apple.com/us/product/TU162ZM/A?fnode=MTY1NDA4Mg&mco=MzE3NzExMg

Here are the rest of the cases on Apple.com

    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod/ipod_accessories/cases?mco=MTI3ODk

A Genius highly recommended the rubberized cases over the hard plastic cases, b/c the hard ones don't provide and shock absorption. I also got the anti-glare films to protect the screen b/c the case leaves the screen open.

    Good luck!

Alas, I too am looking for a vegan folio case. I am finding it so frustrating as I wade in the deep murky waters of Google and try to pull out a faux leather folio, or anything leather free. I truly cannot believe there aren't more options out there, because, in my view, the folios are the best protection and easiest to use. Etsy has thousands of vegan sleeves for the IPod touch, but the ONLY folio i found was leather! Anyone can make a sleeve. Couldn't any of these crafty people think to design a folio!

In any case, after HOURS of searching through cyberspace, I found a few options for vegans wanting folios.

There are case logic folios, but they don't offer protection from falling out of the bottom(where the ipod goes in).

Another case logic wallet folio, not sure about fit compared with above cases.

DLO made a nylon flip case for the 1st Gen Ipod that's like their leather version for 2nd Gen. Too bad. Here's a look if you're curious: https://00e2b5b.netsolstores.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=3237

Just found another faux leather case on Amazon that claims to be eco conscious also: http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Lifes...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1237450485&sr=1-43

Finally, for those not wanting to spring for a stand (which I want to use on an upcoming flight), you can make your own out of a business card. Here's the link: http://www.instructables.com/id/Simple-business-card-iPhone--iPod-stand/

Just scroll down to see info and links to more steps. I think there are also more ideas for stands on the page.

Well, I've said my piece. I hope this helps.

re: (Vegan Friendly) Folio case for iPod Touch?

If you'd like a vegan and eco-friendly case for your iPod Touch, then I would respectfully recommend on of these wooden cases:

They offer full and complete protection of your iPod and are handmade, eco-friendly and definitely vegan!

(Vegan Friendly) case for iPod Touch?

Do you mean practical (not 'practicle')? Let me assure you, since you have no experience with it but making wild guesses, it does NOT scratch the iPod. Also, it's not 'huge', it easily slides into my coat pocket. Yes, its larger than a leather case, but it provides more protection AND its vegan friendly. That was a requirement that the original author of this thread was looking for.

It's not for everyone, but those who are looking for a unique, handmade and environmentally-friendly alternative to those mass-produced, plastic or leather cases, then these cases are a viable alternative.

Vegan and Eco Friendly iPad/Phone/Pod cases

Found this while looking for the same thing. I assume this product is vegan, although the question would be whether any glues they use happen to contain animal proteins (which is sometimes the case with glues). Bamboo, walnut, or cherry, and looks to cover all models, with options for either a slipcase or a shellcase. Walnut and cherry are grown in the US, and the bamboo origin is not specified but does say it does not come from the tropics.

I suppose one could inquire directly with them as to whether the product is technically vegan.

Also, this largely solves the petrochemicals issue, at least for the case (though again, without knowing whether the stains or sealants used are oil-based or not, it's hard to say - you could follow this issue down forever).

The owner of this site also owns a slaughter house for cows and pigs. So you posting here has already kinda killed the whole vegan thing....

I hope you have an egg of a time 'cracking a shot at getting your ipod wrapped around like a piece of bacon with the comfort of an steak-absorbant impact case.
