Hello, I bought the card "velocity solo x2 pci card" for ssd, if I use any card gtx (570, 670) I will have trouble when during the booting process? (mac pro will see the velosity pci card/ssd?),

    Thanks..

I have been running the GTX 660 and the X2 for months without issue.

I use the Velocity Solo X2 and a nVidia GTX 680 without any problems.

As with all GTX 680 and other cards of the nVidia 600 series you don’t have any boot screen (e.g. if you press ALT do invoke the boot selector menu). Once the system extension for the nVidia card is loaded, the display works just fine.

I had the nVidia GTX 680 already in my Mac Pro when I installed the Velocity Solo X2. After turning on the Mac, the system booted just fine from the internal HDD as before.
I cloned my boot HDD to the SSD on the Velocity Solo X2, opened the system preferences to set my boot volume to the SSD and restarted. That’s it.

From a user point of view, there’s not much difference between a drive attached to the Velocity Solo X2 and a drive attached to the internal SATA connectors.

I have a GTX570 along with an SSD in a Velocity X2. It works great. However it does take a little longer to boot than when the SSD is in a drive sled presumably due to some extra time running POST.

I am running dual x2s with dual 840 Pro 521GB SSDs, no issues at all over the past month that I have had them. Blazingly fast (to me anyway).

    Cheers,
    Mark
