Glad to hear things are settling down. But I have one concern maybe you can clear up. Who's going to run the government until the next election? This can be the most difficult time. Good luck.

The sad thing about that is that this scenario was around for so long that about mid night there was a new provisional president.

We have 2 main "chmabers" one is the Chmaber of Comerce (Sorry, I do not have in hand the exact name in english) that is group former by all the industrial people and the owners of every comerce, well, the president of that chmaber is our actual provisional president. He was too one of the organizers of the National Strike for the resignation of the president. The other person that organize the strike was the leader of the Union workers. As you may know, this two group of people are allways agains each other but for some time now they are togather against their commun enemy that was the president and his administration.

Let me remind you that this type of situations are not normal in Venezuela. The last time we had a problem like this was in 1992 and was cause by the same man trying to kill the president that we had at that time. As he is a total looser he fail that time too. And befor that coup the last one was in 1945 or something like that.

Returning to the question, right now we have this provisional president (that is a good man) and he is gonna take car of everything for a yera or less, togather with one representant of the army, church, etc. That is to regulate every aspect of the country before fall in to elections. Even the vice president is hidding some where.

So, I'll keep in touch if any one have a question, this is a very interesting process. At list I'm not in such hurry to leave this country witch I eventually do, because on the other hand this place ins not boring at all, and once I move to Florida or some other place I feel very bored. I just wish I could make more money down here but for the things I do I feel force to move to Miami at list.

Thanx for the invitation to Australia but there I won't find our venezuelan girls :)

Now that opens up a can of worms. I can understand you bias towards your country women, but you're willing to exclude out all other nations? I curious to know why.:D

Obviously, Duke, you haven't kept up with the play of the Miss Universe contest -

- Miss Venezuela inevitibly wins (or comes close to winning) in every competition. The results speak for themselves!

Mymemory - that just proves there's so much worth saving in your country.

Keep your head down and your chin up, mate...;)

I have no idea how I double posted, something screwy here. I might have navigated back and forth and messed up. Sorry.:(

Research reveals that Miss Venezuela has one 5 times. Miss USA has one 7. And after looking at the contestants, well, I've seen plenty of better looking women walking around DC or NY.

But everything is a personal preference when gauging how good or bad some one else is perceived, so lets not get into a huge discussion over who has the best looking people. We could use that for another thread: mac and beauty

Cool, more Australian girls for me. :D Australia tops my list of places to migrate to should John Ashcroft gain any more power in our government (that man just scares me). I understand the immigration requirements there are some of the toughest in the world, though, aren't they?

Oh, and glad you're safe and sound, mymemory, and thank you for letting us know what was happening. The US media are very single-minded. More than one regional crisis just overwhelms them, and even if they do report it, "objective" reporting makes it seem very far away. It's much different when people you know and like are directly involved. Take care of yourself.

Come on man! In 6 months in NY I saw only 1 pretty girl (not even gorgeus). But do you know where the prettiest girsl are in the US? In Arkansas (I have been there, in Orlando, in Connecticut and NY for month than 3 months). The girls in Arkansas are hot, sadly they do not understand too much about the world and they are "very" religious.

Venezuela have something very good and is that as we are in the top of south america, we had (when this country was something) a lot of european inmigration and a enormus exchange of races. Whe do not have comunityes as you can find in the US. So, you can see very nice looking experiments walking around, very succesfull ones. Just imagine a girl mixed between a afro american and spain like person. We have all the flavors and colors.

My parents are from here and I'm 6.3 tall, blue eyes, blond, but I have (or had because I'm getting bold) a bunch of afro hair in the back (you could hardly tell), that is because I had a black grandma some were.

Well, beauty is something very subjective. I like skiny ones and some other people here like "with stuff". Who knows, it is good that is always an option to every body, that is the best thing about it.

By the way, right now there are about 300 people suruonding the Cuban embassy. Looks like some of the ministers are there. You would like to see the embasador car! their phone lines have been disconected too.

That people outside of the embasy looks maaaaaad!:D

You must not have been looking in the right places, but you're last statement is what I was saying, everyone has different tastes.

America is a bit of a melting pot, I'd love to go to Venezuela some day and experience the culture.

I hope the mob at the embassy doesn't get crazy. It will just escalate and someone will probably get killed.

Keep up the messages, and stay safe.
