Hi,

on my MacBook Pro 14 with Ventura I noticed a strange sound coming out of my boxes on an irregular basis. I have no idea what produces this sound - it sounds like when you purchase an app on an iPhone and enter the password then you get this checked icon and the sound is like "di ding", very bright.

I have no idea where that comes from on the MacBook. It just could be heard again and the apps that were open were Firefox, Nova and Mail. I checked the firefox tabs for a speaker symbol but no.

Do you have any idea how I can figure out where this sound comes from?

what usagora said. plus, try having only one app open (ie mail); do you hear it? if not, open nova. same test. then firefox...

What do you mean by "my boxes"?
I am sorry, this is an interference with my mother tongue. The correct English word would be „speakers“. Sometimes when quickly writing in a foreign language, this happens.
I‘ll try to locate the source of the sound by having only one app open at a time.

Did you figure out what was causing this?

I have same problem - it sounds like the noise Windows produces when a USB is plugged or unplugged

Can't find any pattern to it - seems to occur when I open the lid but not always and also at other random times
