Hi guys,

I'm very experienced with clean installs in general. But I've never skipped an entire OS (Monterey).

Does/Can anyone perceive any issues with clean installing Ventura directly from a Big Sur MacBook? I can't foresee why it would be a problem but would be foolish not to seek your expertise in advance.

Thanks..

you misspelled "incline" 🤣....
I think he might've meant decline in that these macOS versions presumably keep on requiring more and more powerful hardware as time goes on so if you keep upgrading on the same hardware you'll notice reduced performance.

My MacBook Pro 16 is late 2019 so hopefully it can perform at least as well as it does on big sur....

i think that's an enormous over-simplification. depends on which mac, and which OS. it's not a straight decline (or incline, for that matter).

On older hardware, 2013 MBP in my case, some system level firmware updates were included in the OS update. For example, Big Sur changed the SSD base firmware so it was more compatible with 3rd party internal SSDs. Not sure if this type of firmware update happens when you skip a version.
