I've held off installing Ventura on my Intel Macbook Pro (16", 2019) based on prior issues with Apple's software releases.

I wonder if anyone here can chime in on their experience upgrading from Monterey to Ventura on this platform and what, if any, issues you experienced. Or, if you do not recommend updating this platform to it.

Thanks!

Installed on my MacBook Air 2020 (Intel), no issues.
Thanks for replying. Can you tell me how long you've been using it and what, if any, larger applications you might use (ie: Adobe Cloud, Final Cut Pro, GCC/compiling) -- I'm curious if you see any net performance gains.

Installed Ventura as soon as it was released and updated today to 13.1.

The system runs smoothly on Intel. However, there's a pinch to zoom issue, it just stops working (across all apps). It's on all devices.

Based on the applications you've mentioned, I assume you work in photo/video editing? Pinch to zoom could be an issue in this case.

Ventura on my Intel Macbook Pro (16", 2019) time to time loses "pinch zoom" trackpad (settings, trackpad re enable). Since beta 1, disregard on clean installation or upgrade, never had this on Monterey, Big Sur. At this very moment on 13.1 and still I see that issue (especially in Safari when trying to pinch zoom) not always though.

MBP 16 2019, been running it since release. I have Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dimension, Premiere), Topaz Labs Suite, Luminar, Blender, Clip Studio, MS Office, and a bunch of emulators... Also have a Wacom tablet.

No real performance increase over Monterey outside of the fixes they made to Spotlight's indexing of my external drives after reboot.

Only issue I've come across is pinch to zoom periodically losing functionality. This is directly caused by Photoshop. Not sure if the latest update the other day from Adobe fixed it, though it hasn't happened since. The Wacom tablet has all kinds of issues with touch input... Though I don't use touch on it and Wacom's macOS driver problems have been around long before Ventura.

Thanks for the heads-up. This is one of the reasons why I've refrained from adopting new releases from Apple.
