Ventura size difference between M-Series and Intel

I've just updated two of my Macs from the same version of Monterey to the same version of Ventura (13.5).
The update file size for the Intel Mac was 5GB, the size for the M1 Mac was 11GB.
I find this curious. Does anybody know the reason?

Sounds like the Intel machine got up the update version and the M1, the full installer:

These are, but I wonder whether the version downloaded via the preference panel is the same.
Logic tells me it should be, but it definitely downloaded only 5GB (Or my Wi-Fi was on steroids)
Strange.

Well, that clearly didn’t happen to me otherwise I would not be here wasting everyone’s time, would I 😂
Anyway, this makes it even more intriguing.

Maybe my Intel mac is only pretending to be on Ventura 😉

I believe you, I’ve seen a similar error in size reporting by Software Update https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/12-6-7-available-updates-have-changed.2393839/post-32274325
What macOS says and what it does can be two different things 🙂

Depending on how you do the install all sorts of temporary directories are changed - cache files, temporary files, etc.
